It’s probably likely that you have a holiday party or two on the horizon (or maybe you are lucky enough to be hosting one). If you’re hosting, you’ll need some good eats to serve, but even if you are just attending a party it might be nice to bring a delicious dish.
I thought I would share some of my favorite must-makes for holiday parties. These are all easy recipes but feel a little more fancy than normal. 😎
Of course, you don’t have to be hosting a party to eat well. Make any of these just for yourself or your family!
Let me know if you try out any of these delicious appetizers and sides!
Brown Butter Sweet Potato Soup
Soup is always a hit for a starter course at a holiday party. This soup has a rich and silky smooth texture and would be a great starter dish. Bonus is that you can make it entirely in advance and it’s just as delicious!
Beef and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
It has been over a month since I first posted these, but I still think about them. They are comfort food in mushroom form and the perfect little starter bite at a holiday party.
Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
Sticking with the stuffed mushroom theme, these guys are stuffed with cheese and crab. They have a very different flavor profile from the beef version above.
Beer Battered Shrimp
When it comes to finger foods, fried shrimp is always a hit. These shrimpies have a light and crispy beer-battered coating. While you can serve them with a sauce, they are actually great with just a squeeze of lemon.
Baked Goat Cheese with Bacon and Dates
Now for some great dip options. This whipped goat cheese is baked and topped with dates and bacon for a perfect mix of salty and sweet. Trust me when I say that this one is worth the work!
Whipped Feta dip with Olives
I love this cheese dip option because you don’t have to bake it. Whipping the feta makes it smooth and creamy and you just load it up with savory toppings and dip in anything crunchy! So good!
Spicy Salmon Poke Dip
Keeping the dip game going, this one feels even fancier somehow, but is also a no bake option. Obviously it’s important to use sushi-grade fish for this dish since it isn’t cooked, but it’s a really fun and unique dip option.
Jalapeno Popper Cheese ball
An update on flavors for the standard cheeseball. This one is packed with spice and rolled in almonds and crunchy bacon.
