It’s the Super Bowl this weekend and whether you are a Chiefs fan or an Eagles fan, I think we can all agree that the food is the most important part of the game. If you aren’t hosting a party, but attending a party, you might be in the market for an appetizer that TRAVELS well.
For starters, let’s talk about what doesn’t travel well. I don’t recommend taking any sort of melty dip on the road. That means, unfortunately, no queso dip. Leave that to the hosts. Also, no fried food! No fried wings! They will just get soggy and lose their charm so don’t go through the work!
But, there are some great options for appetizers that travel well and will be 100% delicious when you get to your destination.
Let’s dive in!
Baked Wings
Okay. I just said that wings don’t travel well, but really that’s just fried wings. Baked wings can travel great! A dry-rub, crispy baked wing is a great option to bring. Check out those cast iron chicken wings for a good option. Or, of course, low and slow wings!
Chilled Dips
The last thing you want is to take melty, perfect queso dip on a 30 minute road trip. It just won’t reheat very well. But, a chilled dip is great for travel! If you are looking for an interesting chilled game-day option, this Italian Hoagie Dip is always a hit, or go for a great, classic guacamole!
Sliders!
Little mini sliders travel surprisingly well and you can customize them to your liking. Some of my favorites for game day include these turkey club sliders, flank steak sliders, or these great Cuban Sliders!
Pinwheels
Pinwheels are actually best if made well in advance! Good news if you are traveling! I like these Chipotle Ranch BLT pinwheels, but also these Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels would be a classic Game Day option!
Make some great food this weekend! If you have a great appetizer that travel well, leave a comment!
